Cycads are living fossil plants that have survived on the earth for almost 300 million years, they are classed as one of the most endangered plants in the world today, the international trade in these plants is controlled by the CITES ("Convention In Trade of Endangered Species" of plants and animals) of which around 150 countries around the world are signatories, it is highly illegal to trade in these plants unless prior permission is gained from the CITES authorities in the importing countries.

Our Compant, Cycad International is a Registered Artificial Propagation Establishment with CITES, this allows for us to export these rare and endangered cycads around the world in commercial quantities for commercial landscape projects as well as for the home landscape market.

with our CITES documentation the importer is not required to have a CITES Import permit from his authorities to legally import these cycads, all that is required is for our CITES documentation and complete list of plants in shipment be sent supplied to customer, this is given to freight clearing agent to be presented to local authorities before shipment is sent.

The plants are inspected treated containerised and sealed at our AQIS registered export facility on our property.
